Something dawned on me this morning, when I saw a particular topic in the General forum which had been locked due to its off topic nature (Finaly my 1000 post. Oups this is off topic
Hardware Central has never been run, the way it is being run now. I didn't think I'd miss the Off Topic forum when it was shut down, because I'd known what this place was like before the Off Topic forum and knew that things were ok.
However, thing are different this time. The pre-off-topic General forum used to cater for all topics including those un-related to hardware (off topic, but in smaller doses). The difference now is, the post-off-topic General forum doesn't cater to that! And suddenly, there's now place to talk about anything remotely off-topic.
I'm not suggesting the off-topic be re-opened, but perhaps thing should be a little more relaxed in the General forum to compensate. Topics regarding, "My 1000 post" were considered common place among the forums, and many members have announced such occasions in the past, including the respected Toolbox.

Seems like Toolbox doesn't follow the same rules as the other members. He was the admin locking the 1000posts thread.
Toolbox when are you going to lock your own thread?

Nicely said, glussier! I support that!
Toolbox would also be able to post topics regarding his ship in the General Hardware forum, just because he was a moderator there.

Don't turn this into an attack against Toolbox. Being assigned as an Admin, he has newfound responsibility, and I'm not going to hold it against him as he's just doing his job now.
I referred to him in my initial post because he has status here and everyone is familiar with him and respects him. It would make no difference if he were an Admin or not.
Keep it constructive folks, you're not going to get your way if you don't play nice.
