    Election Program???

What I would really like to do is to have an election program so that when it comes time to vote on mods or other official site business we could all vote secretly and only once as in a political election.

I would prefer it if we could have it so anyone could be voted for and the top vote getter wins.
I think this would be the fairest way to organize our elections around here.

We could have a week or so of nominations and campaigning and then maybe a three day election period so every one could participate.

I also asked this in the Software forum...
Does anyone have any experience with a program or any ideas on how this could be done?

Any suggestions or comments on this idea?

Good Luck to all of the candidates!

I can setup something in one of my sites.

Just a simple page with fill in the box and a submit button will do right?

    Thanks sin2...

The only requirements I can think of is to allow only one vote per member and for it to be a completely open candidacy so that anyone could recieve a vote.

We will just have to trust the members that post as more than one person to only vote once unless there is some way around that?

    Thanks again

I can't do it unless you're positive people are going to buy into this.

So far no one is replying to this thread. I'll assume that's it only you and me.

    Not a problem...

As long as you are sure you can do it we know it will be available for use in the future if we need it.

How long would it take to put this up and be useable once we see we need it?

    Thanks for your help.

I don't see the point in open candidacy. The mods-to-be should be nominated. There is no point in voting for someone that doesn't want to be mod. You should be able to nominate yourself, but I see that as the only option.

    Thanks for the opinion Brainsoft...

I think it would be easier to run an open election and it would be an option if "none of the above" applies.

All of the nominations and declining to runs would take place during nomination week.

    Thanks for replying.

I'll support this. It seems well organized, but has caught less attention. Have you considered transferring this or placing an acknowledgement post in Off-Topics Forum? Some people might listen.

Hey, if it's sin2 setting this up, it's possible!

    Thanks...
