Finally murdered my Duron.....

... in a totally Homer Simpson type way!

My poor unclocked Duron 750 ACKA which would do 1000 (with 133/266 FSB). I was keeping as a spare and I was using it to troubleshoot a faulty motherboard (won't keep it's CMOS settings - tried changing everything incl. battery). Decided to buy a brand new unused battery just before I RMA the board. I set everything up, booted and went into the BIOS.....
Started changing the clock values and the system froze. That's funny I thought... then I smelt burning and noticed I'd forgot to clamp the heatsink down.

DOH!

Took it out - severely scorched on the bottom. Tried resitting it but it's an ex-processor; it has ceased to be....
