I have a 300 Watt P/S and posted asking if I need more power well the answer is yes Cant I use two P/S's, If so would running my Motherboard,P4 and HHD with the 300 watt and my fans,CD drive, CDR and floppy with a 250 watt be a good set up or do one of you have a better way?

The only reason I would even suggest it is I already have an extra 250 watt.

hmm i wouldnt waste my money....you already have the extra psu...all you have to do is connect wires 14-15 from the 250 watt to the 300 watts 14-15 wires...and on the 250 watt short wires 7-8 together...this will power up the secondary 250 watt psu when you power up your comp....that simple....i have been using 2 for a long while now...and doubt ill ever pay a premium for a super high powered psu...(ps. to see what wires are what..look at the top of the atx power connector that plugs into you mobo..there you'll see the numbers)
I would use two instead of getting a new one, but only if I could accomodate both of them them easily into my case. Don't like the idea of one dangling outside (purely from an aesthetic point of view).
i have done dual psu for a while...worked fine...i did just get a enermax 431 but i still think i will throw in the old 200watt supply for cdroms and fans.
If possible, keep your fans on a different PSU to your hard disk drives. This way you'll reduce the chance of data corruption due to voltage spikes on the headers. Fans can spontaneously draw quite a bit of current (have seen this first-hand). I assume that these are closely associated with voltage spike phenomena that are exhibited by high-load components such as electric motors.
right you got what i was refering to....you will want every fan but the cpu on the other supply so if the secondary fails ur cpu won't fry. but if the primary fails ur mb will shut down anyways.

Thanks for the advice, and good thinking, all I need know is some wire splicers, If I knew how I would post a Picture
