After 1 hour gaming Beeeeeep whats this?

After gaming for an hour or so somtimes I get a BEEEEEEEP just one and then everything goes on as normal. I checked my Core temp on my CPU it was great. Could it be my Ram? I am running DDR 2100 in my Asus P4S333, thats the only thing I could think of,I dont have a heat sink on it, so thats probably what it is, If so how did the computer know and if it does can I find the temp somwhere, and if its the Nvidia Ti200 its running at 175/400 thats sure to be Okay, Anyway you experts mat have some info for me. THANKS!

Is there any pattern to it? Like it happens every X amount of minutes? Or is it sporadic (sp?)? My old Abit BE6-II used to do this, but I found it was a temperature warning that was set in the BIOS. The way to fix it was to go into the PC Health Monitoring section in the BIOS and raise the warning temperature.

It is one beep, I cant tell if it is every x amount of minutes, I'll check my CPU temp, I dont know how fast it can cool down but when i heard the Beep I checked my CPU temp and it was 82 degrees, thats cool but it could have cooled down in the 3o seconds it takes to boot down and get to the bios,Thanks for the feed back!

I will check my alarm setting Thanks!

Check the BIOS and see if it has any sort of PC health enabled. It could be triggering from a low voltage, low fan RPM, or high temp (I hope the temp you gave us was F not C). I think some graphics cards have a temp sensor in them. Do you have any sort of monitoring software running in the background (Motherboard Monitor, CPUCool...)? Is your memory actually set at 333Mhz or are you running it at 266Mhz?

Yes, Wow I think it was 32C and 82F, I dont think that 82C would have lasted long, but thanks for checking me out, yes it was 82F.

32ºC is an extremely good temperature to be at. I don't think your problem is where the processor lays. It has be something else. Are you also monitoring your videocard? Check inside your casing and look if all the fans are spinning okay... I've noticed in my system that the chipset fans is beginning to slow down. I haven't had any type of warning beeps just yet so I can't say for sure what is going on with your system.

The best advise has been said already. Check your monitoring threshold in the BIOS and see if anything there is set too low by default.

I was considering mentioning that but didn't know if the BIOS senses that? I thought that was only hardware manufacturer's softwares...?

I had Motherboard monitior on my machine had the temp alarm set right on the edge and mine would do the same thing. My system runs 42c idle and 46c load and I had it set at 46c. So when it reached 46 for a second it would beep one time I guess before it dropped below that.

You need to install temperature monitoring software that will allow you to see your temps from windows, such as Motherboard Monitor or (slight shudder ) the temp monitor progy that cme with your mobo (on the install CD) maybe "ASUS PC Probe"?. This will let you know the real story, by the time you reboot to check temps in bios your chip has cooled significantly.

As mentioned above, I'll bet that the cpu high threshold alarm temp in Bios is being reached after all that gaming and setting off the alarm. So, you will need to improve your cooling (if the temp is too high) or raise the high limit a few degrees.

I cant find anything in my Bios that has to do with Alarms and heat, all i find in the ability to Enable or Disable monitoring. I'll find my MOBO book and check this, Thanks!

Install a monitoring software and see where everything is at. I like CPUCool. It automatically generates a graphical log and increments of anywhere from 1-30 seconds. You can have it list the voltages, fan RPM, and temps. It also has some nice cooling features that will drop you idle/surfing temps quite a bit.

Motherboard Monitor is likely a better monitoring program (been a while since I used it though), but I like the cooling software and see no reason to have a second program running doing basically the same thing as CPUCool.

You can grab a free version here. It will give you a message everytime you boot up telling you to register for $13 and it is not the latest version:

Yeah my computer likes to beep every once and a while...I don't know why. It seems to be doing this since I put it in the new case and installed the Radeon 8500. I also have excelent temps....

have you tried to configure the Temp probes in mbm 5? go to settings - temperatures and sort out the sensors
