Arctic Silver II

I have som temperature problems with my CPU, and I'm thinking about getting some Arctic Silver II. I have no idea how it works, since I'm fairly new to this. I have a AMD XP1700+ and a Dr. Thermal T-V77L CPU cooler.

Should I put it on so that the heatsink comes in contact with the CPU?
Shuld I put it on both the heatsink and the CPU core?

Any other things I have to be aware of?

i suggest reading the instructions for applying thermal paste at the arctic silver website

the general rule appears to be as thin as possible

The way it works is pretty simple. Your basicly trying to fill the air space between the Cpu Core and the HSF with the best thermal conductor you can find. Which happens to Arctic silver 3.
We all know that Air is a better insoulator than conductor so you want to get it the hell out of there.

Yup, that's about it. You could also decrease your Vcore. It might solve part of your cooling difficulties.
