Hey guys as most of you now know, I have my system running again with a 1600+ AthXP. I have a 300w PSU ATX and 150w AT PSU installed. My 300w is running my complete system right now (minus the peltier...not in use currently), but with a 4.85v score on the 5v rail. Thing is, this is at default voltage/mhz for my chip. I'm afraid my PSU won't handle 2.15v and 1900mhz+. 12v and 3.3v rails are EXACTLY where they should be.
Now, since my 300w has a 12v rail stable... I know I can put all my drives and fans on my 150w AT PSU with a lil room to spare. I put it in for my peltier, but I am having second thoughts with my "low" 5v rail, but it can't get any lower than this. If I only have my mobo (expansion cards + CPU) on my 300w, should the 118w pelt work? I mean, the 12v rail is STABLE at 12.0v, and since there will be even less strain on it (no drives), it makes sense to me that I should be able to throw my pelt on that with my board if all my drives and fans are on my AT PSU. Can this setup possibly work?
My system:::
MSI K7T Turbo-R (KT133A)
AMD AthlonXP 1600+ (aiming for 1900MHZ)
256mb PC150 CAS2 RAM
118w Watercooled Peltier
12x DVD
12x CDRW
15.3gb 7200RPM ATA66 hard drive
Floppy
64mb AGP 4x vid card
WinModem
10/100 SMC NIC
2 intake case fans in front(I use the PSUs' fans to draw air out)
