My idle was 41c with a 1.33 ay now I'm down to 37c with kt7a-r 3r bios, with my k6 500 I use to use rain which is a couple of years old but since this one was made this year thought it would be more appropriate to use. You can get it here http://www.tweakfiles.com/

CPUcool does a real nice job on Athlons, plus you can make fsb adjustments with some chipsets.

Lots of alarm & shut down options as well.

I've used it for a while (since K6-3) but it didn't support Athlon cooling until a few months ago.

Idle 25C now using Glaciator all copper cooler. Of course it's 60F here in the NW.

I ws idling my 1.4 Birdie at 47-49 before VCOOL. now I'm at 30-31 dependng on room temp. But the strange thing is how it acts under load. This is supposed to only work during wait states. It shouldnt have any effect on 100% load. Yet when I run the sandra burn in wizard for the CPU about 100 times steady I'm only up to about 47*. I used to max out about 52*-55*. Very very nice proggy, indeed.

Glad its working for you Q damn thats a good temp now I'm jealous, temps are coinciding with my hardware monitor so that helps believability plus its free so it seems to be adding up like rain use to.

Yes, I've also cross checked the temps with my bios and founf them dead on. Great program. And free!!!!!!

Mitch don't have 2k but can you manage the one you speak of probably not but curious anyway as to how MS puts this out or in to 2k. I believe win always had a throttling file but never seemed to work as well as 3rd party.

Hey guys!! I just red this Post and soon I did i downloaded the program!!! What can I say u bastards THANKS SO MUCH!! LOL temp from 50 idle went down to 39 hahahahahahahhahahahhahaha! I cant be happier man than now! Anyways the system is 1ghz ATHY runing on MSI Limited Board and raid and lots of stuff in there! I got one question though, can u like tell me the best thing i should check under the OPTIONS for my system??
