    Thermal Compound - how much?

I just bought some Thermal compound from a local radio shack. My question is how much to add on the core of my CPU? Also how much of an area to cover. Currently I have a very thin layer covering only the core. Should I appy more?

Apply as little as possible - just enough to fill tiny voids. Too much is a bad thing...

A thin even layer. A lot of people use a credit card to spread it around.
