New to overclocking -- what do you think??

    I have the following system:

    AMD 1Ghz
    ASUS A7V133
    2-128 Sticks PC133
    TNT2 Ultra 32mb
    Mini-Super Orb
    SPI Super Power Case

I have been able to push this system to 1350mHz without any real hang ups. Now, my temps are running at 47C under full load. Is this too high? My Mini-Super Orb heatsink/fan speeds are running around 4927 for one and the other fan is running around 6500.

My system stays on 24/7 -- are these temps too high? Should I try a different heatsink/fan setup?

Also, has anyone used the ASUS A7V133 board to overclock with much success?? I've setup the multiplier to 10.0x and the speed to 135. Really did no other changes. My VCore is set on Auto and it seems to be running 1.888. Will chaning the VCore in the BIOS from Auto to something different allow me to overclock even higher? I never really pushed the system past 1350mHz -- because I was satisfied at the time. Well as you can tell, I'm ready to push it up even higher.

I've been thinking of possibly going with a Watercooled unit, maybe a Blizzard kit or something similar -- anyone have any thoughts..?

Sorry for the long message, just have lots of questions right now.

    Thanks in advance,
    WNxDrakan

Yes, the orbs are horrible coolers. Barely adequate. Get yourself a better HS/F. It'll run cooler and you'll be able to get alot more out of it.

Thanks for the response. What is a better HS/F combination out there?? I've seen all kinds of HS/F setups but don't want to go out wasting money on something that doesn't work.

If you are on a budget, get a Volcano II or a Taisol HSF. If you have quite a bit to spend (and don't care about noise) get a ThermoEngine with Delta fan.

What do you use that computer for? Cuz if it's for games, you might wanna get a new video card.

I use my system for gaming, mostly Tribes2. If anyone knows anything about Tribes2 it sure is a work horse! I know the TNT2 is not that good of a video card, really wish i could afford the GeForce3.

I've been reading some reviews on the Global WIN FOP 38 --- it really seems like a great HS/F combination. What's everyone else think??

If you don't give a rats *** about noise, go for a Taisol CGK760 with a Delta Black Label fan

Yeah the fop38 use to be one of the best...and still is a good cooler. However, it is pretty much outdated now. For aprox $10-15 more you can get either an OCZ gladiator or a Taisol 760. Both of these coolers will keep this chip at a decent temp. I'm running the gladiator right now. My current temps are 38C (chip), 33C (northbridge), and 23C (case). Never get temps higher than 40C with this 1ghz at 1395mhz. I also have a taisol 760 that I was sent for testing but I just got it and haven't had time to test it yet.
