What is the best Heatsink/Fan for my T-Bird 1Ghz on an MSI K7T Pro2-A?

I currently have an Alpha7HO on this setup and I am getting temperatures up to 125F with 1.65 volts, and even higher with more voltage. I am currently running this 1Ghz at 11x107 which gives me 1177, I think I can get more out of this proccessor but heat is keeping me back. Thanks!

Though I dont know if you have enough room arround the socket on the K7Tpro2-A (not sure about the lay out) I would say you cant go wrong with the Tiasol CGK760. It has a copper insert in the base and dose a nice job for my 1gig AXIA @ 1.5gig's, 1.85v.. Max temps never pass 42.c.. They are arround 25-30 bucks. Give them a look.. Good Luck!

I built a Duron sys using that board and you have plenty of room for just about any HS/fan, I installed a WBK-38 with no problems, Duron 600@950 1.8v 36-40*C

I would look at the Taisol 760092 w/copper insert, or the WBK38 for low cost cooling solutions. Keep in mind that the Taisol will work a lot better with the Delta fan option. Both are quite loud though. The Delta seems to have a high pitched whine to it that irritates some people. It doesn't seem to bother me though.......

Also, take a look at the OCZ Gladiator copper heatsink. It has tested very well and is a low cost heatsink as well. It rates as one of the best and is the most bang for the buck.....

As for your ALPHA, check the clip, your temps seem high. Is your fan blowing? Try reversing it and see what happens. Do your temps drop when the case side is off? Your case ventilation may need improving as well......... just a thought. My ALPHA clip was weak and it caused my temps to hit 60c and above. After replacement, the temps never broke 43c........

Thanks! These temps of around 50C are with full load for around a half hour with the one side of the case off(the side that exposes everything). I have checked everything, the goop, contact of the goop, clip, whether it might lose contact when I turn the case upright, pretty much everything I could think of. I also have a huge 4-5 inch diameter(I am not sure if it is 4 or 5) 12v fan glued to the spot where the normal 2-1/2" case fans go, it blows a hellacious amount of air. And with my that side of the case off my case temps never go above 89F/32C.

On the Heatsink/Fan note, I don't really care about noise nor price, I have my 2 5 foot towers sitting no more than a foot and a half from my ears and 2 bookshelves with 10s a few feet behind me hooked to a Pioneer DTS 100x5 receiver. I was actually looking at spending 50 bucks for a Tai-Sol CGK760092B (http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=654321&Product_Code=130207). But right now I am trying to find the best cooling(besides water) and a stick of 512MB CAS2 Corsair from the same place. Thanks again. Peace!
