Do I need to remove the pads from the CPU or only from the heatsink in order to apply Arctic Silver II?If yes is it safe to use rubbing alcohol in order to clean up the CPU?

You want to remove the rubbery "bubblegum" that's in the middle of the heatsink base with rubbing alcohol, nothing else.

You dont mean the 4 little feet on an athlon or duron do you? those you leave alone they keep the HSF from crushing the core (at least they are supost to)
