do i need a spacer?

hey, im getting a 1 - 1.2ghz tbird soon.. with a fop32 prolly, jw if i should get a spacer.. and what do i need to keep the hsf on? ie - arctic silver - adhesive.. thanks, later..

You can get a spacer if you want, but I doubt it will decrease temps. Its mainly used to make mounting heatsinks, waterblocks, peltiers, etc. easier. If you can find one really cheap then you might as well, but if not then don't worry about it. Artic Silver is the best kind of thermal paste that I know of but you can use any type of thermal paste you want. You can even go to radio shack and pick some up.

well, I noticed a 3C temp drop with one.
You must be carfull when using an unlocked cpu(pencil trick) with one though. They have been known to short out cpus.
