    Duron results.

I told everyone that I was getting a Duron to OC. I was going for an 800, but I couldn't pass up the price on the 650. Well, I penciled the bridges first for testing purposes. The chip ran up to 850 w/out a voltage bump, so that's where it'll stay. If it was mine I'd get everything I could out of it, but it's not. The temps idle at 33, and top out at 41(seti, Winamp, QIII). I did the bridges w/a conductive pen, and I'll be giving this guy his PC tomorrow. I'm amazed at the speed of this "Budget" processor. Just thought I'd share.

    It's time to get a T-bird!!!

I got an 800 to 1GHz with quite a large voltage increase.

    running at 44ºC max
    (seti, winamp, Q3)

Durons are great for O/C'ing, sadly T-birds don't go as far, but they generally whip Durons anyway.

As for price, Durons are a joke, sooooo cheap!! Love them.

    CS,
I plan on getting a Duron 700 ,it would be an increase over my current system(check sig),but would like to be the first I know to reach 1ghz .Is 800@1000 fairly easy to obtain without any extravagant cooling?could it go higher?

    I'm looking at the ASUS A7V133 with 128MB PC133.

I intend to keep my OC fairly cautious most of the time (see the sig) but for the record, I've had my air cooled D800 running (Stress tested & benchmarked, not just a POST) at 1066 (133*8) with fairly agressive performance settings too.

I've only had my system a short while, so given time I may decide to tweak it some more.

The Duron is certainly amazing value for money if you OC!

    Here is a joke:
My Duron is so cheap, it waves around a popsicle stick and calls it air conditioning.

Seriously though. I don't see how anyone with a week 40 or better Duron can't hit 1 gig.

Maybe that is just me though.
