Need a Picture of a K6-3+, Not the CPU, but something I can print out to make it a sticker for my case.
It use to be on the AMD channel but I can't seem to find it anymore...
Can anyone help me... By the way... Sandra rates my K6-III+ 616 (112x5.5) close to an Athlon 600 (except mem benches) That is cool!!!! The best $50 I have ever used to upgrade my VA 503+!!!
Thanx,

AMD Athlon Turion 64 2200
1gig DDR pc3200
80 gig mobile Harddrive
DVD+-RW
12.1 WXGA LCD (4.2lb notebook)
Windows Vista
Its awesome for a socket 7 board, I used to own that board & thought I was flying @ 350 mhz! But now look what a $45.00 Duron 600 can do!! 950 mhz easy!
I agree... Sandra is a bit over-rated... but... The K6-III+ is simular in the fact that it does have the Extended 3D-Now! instruction set. Also not to mention 256kb On chip L2 cache (more then the duron has) Also rem that the Athlon in a 7th Generation Chip the K6-III+ is only a 6th... What makes it even weirder is that it is a Mobile chip... I think AMD just came out with a mobile version of the Duron... I have to do some more research on it.... I would love to see mobile version benches on them..
deerwchr - Thanx a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yah, but try playing Quake3 on a K6-III+ and compare it to a Duron of the same clock speed. And as you know, the K6-III+ will not overclock into the range that the Athlon, Duron, PIII, Celeorn, or P4 can run. Even CyrixIII now runs faster, but the K6-III+ probably still performs better.

AMD Phenom II x4 945 3Ghz | ASUS M4A77TD | 2X WD 1TB SATA 2 hard drive | 2x2GB Corsair XMS3 | nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS | ATI TV Wonder Theater Pro 550 | Antec P-160 case | Antec 650w Earth Watts | LG Blu-ray Super Drive | LG DVD RW | Windows 7 Pro
They have two flavors. The First had 128k L1 and no L2 cach and performed really bad. The Second, they added a 64k L2 and clocked a little higher. This article has a 650Mhz Cyrix (64k L2) against a 600Mhz Cyrix (0 L2) and a K6-2+ 600Mhz. Cyrix has released a 700Mhz version and they are cheap (about $60) and they run on a standard socket370 board that the FC-PPGA Celeron and PIII's use. I do not know if they are locked, but they do support 66, 100, and 133Mhz bus speeds, so I do not think they are. They also are using an advanced .18u production that they are dubbing a .15u. It usses something like 10w at most and can run without a fan if needed. http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/viacyrix3/index5.shtml
They actually show it beating the K6-2+ pretty bad. Of coarse this thing gets beat pretty bad when put up against the Durons and Celerons. Anand put the new Cyrix III 677Mhz (64K L2 and 133Mhz bus) against a Celeron 566 and Duron 600. All used VIA chipset boards with no overclocking. http://www1.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1396&p=9
The Cyrix gets its butt whooped pretty bad (of coarse the Celeron did pretty bad against the Duron too). If you are building a system around a socket370 board, why would you waste $60+ on a Cyrix 700 when you can get a Celeron 633 for about the same price. If you are building a system from ground up, why would you get anything but a Duron for a budget system.

Did I receive a shock... Cyrix on top... When I get home either tonight or tomarrow, I will use Sandra 2001 and test my K6-III+ at 560 (112x5) (Not stable at 600 need a new heatsink) and see if the 112 bus makes a difference along with double the L2 cache that the K6-III+ has thatthe K6-2+ lacks.... Also I will try installing the new VIA 4 in 1 drivers....
It's not that I doubt you Todd a, I just can't have a cyix beating me.... lol It makes me feel like getting a T-bird just to make me feel better
Thanx for the benches.... I will most likely post tonight using Win Me
Thanx again
