Without extreme cooling you are likely to top out around 850Mhz. If you are lucky you might hit 900 to 950MHz.

A friend of mine purchased a Celeron 700 and mobo for a system he was building for a relative. It wouldn't post, so he gave me the Celeron to test on my Soyo SY-6BA+IV board. I only ran it for a couple of minutes or so to see if it was good. But it went right to 875 MHz (10.5 x 83 MHz) at the default core setting with the retail H/S fan. It wouldn't run at the 90 MHz setting, but I didn't have time to play with the core voltage or anything.

So, with better cooling and with the core upped to 1.8V to 1.9V, I would think that 945 MHz (10.5 x 90) is certainly possible. Maybe even 998 MHz (10.5 x 95). I guess it would depend on the FSBs available on your mobo and the core voltage setting limitation. I believe all Celeron 700s are cC0 stepping which have a good chance of getting to 1 GHz. But if all you have is 83 MHz and then 100 MHz FSB choices, I'd think that 875 MHz would be as high as you could get. 1050 MHz is not very likely for any Celeron II or Coppermine PIII.

    Hi There,

I bought a Celeron II 700 Mhz cCo stepping a few months ago ...

I have had it running at 903 Mhz stable, but at that speed my PCI bus was running a fairly high 43 Mhz. Then my Maxtor 15,3 Gb ATA66 whent allmost dead, so I clocked it down to 775 (75 FSB). It runs like a charm, and even 875 is no problem at all. (this at 1,8V Core Voltage)

903 Mhz was achieved by 1,9V.

Cooling = Global Win FDP32 (modded)+ total of 8 fans throughout my case.

90 FSB results in BSOD when starting Windows Me.

Going to try more ... just tweaking and looking for more in BIOS.

Soemthing strange though ... 875 Mhz will result in NOT as smooth operation as 775 Mhz.

When I play games or run 3DMark2000 demo, I get some sort of stuttering. Does anybody have a cure for this ??? I tried setting my RAM at CAS 3-3-3, but that won't help. I think it's something to do with the HD's, but can't find a solution. So I am held back at 775 for the time ...

Enough info ??? Think so ...

    Good luck.
