Was watching Short Circuit, man that's an oldie. anyway, I have a 800 T-Bird @ 1071Mhz(10.5x102) at 1.85V on a A7V. Just wanted to know if that is pretty high compared to other 800's. I can get it past 1100 in Win2K but Win Me doesnt like it too much(dual booting), so I am stuck at 1071(not that I am complaining). Also core appears to be greenish, and from what I've heard they are aluminum. Is this true? The place I bought it from said it was Copper. Plus, I didnt think the AL cores would go as high as I have mine. What do you think? Is it copper or AL? are some green cores Copper?

I think, but I could be wrong on this, that the copper cores start with the 900mhz TBirds.

Click on the "CPU Database", fill in the blanks, and click "Get the goods" (or something like that). There you will find info on what others are reaching speedwise and an average overclock speed.

1071 is pretty impressive for an 800Mhz Tbird. Has that fan affected your hearing yet?!

Have you tried higher fsb settings (like 10 x 107 for 1070mhz with 140Mhz ram) with the A7V? Since your cpu works at this speed and the RAM should work too, if that setting doesn't work I'm guessing it would be because of the chipset. Just wondering. I have an A7V and am considering buying some pc150 RAM but don't want to if the mobo prevents the RAM from working higher than 135Mhz anyway.

I've got quite acustomed to the fan now. I have had it up to 10x111 with the RAM running at 144Mhz Cas 2. The RAM can easily do that stable. That is in Win2k though. It is completely stable in Win2k at that speed but Win Me dosen't like anything above 10x105 or 10.5x102. So I figured 10x105 would be better than the 10.5x102 cause of the higher bus speed(even though it's lower mhz overall). I'm thinking about just ditching Win Me and going straight 2000 so that I can get at least 10x110. The only reason I am even keeping Win Me is for game support.

My 800 @ 1113 w/1.89 volts runs hot. 42°C in 21°C case temps under load with PAL 6035 w/ 120mm Pabst fan. How about yours?

I've found that numbers from Overclockers.com database to be increasingly inaccurate indications of the maximum overclocking ability of a particular chip. Too many newbies are posting figures without seriously overclocking (800 @ 850, 600 @ 700) and some (not all) of the top overclocks (> 100% o/c) are juz made up.

45°C and 28°C Case Temps full load. What OS are you using S_klass to get to that speed which I am assuming is 10.5x106? I could probably get that high with Win2K but not Win Me.
