Yes. The AMD CPU's are cheaper but if u add the mobo's for each of them the price is about equal so...

If intel are the biggest chip makers and AMD are smaller then surely intel are able to lower their prices massively. they would still make more profit than all the other chip manufacturers even if they were cheaper than AMD's. why then if they make so much did AMD come up with the 1ghz chip first!!

Yup ! I'm an Intel user since I had computers and am very happy with it.
AMD has made huge improvements over the years and I will probably buy a Duron or T-Bird to try it out and see what I've been missing (maybe...).
Only fools don't change their mind or are willing to try something else...
But I will still keep the Intel of course...

Uh.... thats an illogical answer cuz suppose a mobo costs $215 cdn... add a DURON600= $295, add a TBIRD 1000=$615 so how does that relate to INTEL ?
ASUS CUV4X VIA 694X/Z FCPGA 300-800MHZ+ UDMA66 1 4XAGP 5PCI 1ISA $179 CDN
PIII-800 $305 or CellyII-700 $169
Total: $ 484 & $348
ASUS A7V SOCKETA KT133 4X AGP 5PCI 1AMR ATA100 5USB W/O SOUND $210 CDN
TBIRD-800 $215 or DURON-700 $105
Total: $425 & $315
Hmmm...my findings are: Cheaper, better mobo, better performance...
Yep, thats right...laugh and the world laughs with you

Pentinums have their uses, but for us overclockers with low budget, AMD provides to solution...

Drakion is one of the few unfortunate people who cannot OC (lack of funds, useless mb, no cooling) and can only watch idlely by. Good luck dudes.
Drakion has recently had his computer go down the drain, and has ended up with a P4.

Yeah Right.
Prices from some computer stores in my country:
AMD T-bird 800 -> 221$ (including VAT)
ASUS A7V -> 223$ (including VAT)
=> 444$
Intel P3-800 -> 267$ (including VAT)
Soyo 6BA+IV BX -> 130$ (including VAT)
=> 397$
VAT = 19%
This are the prices here so an intel cpu+mobo costs less then an amd cpu+mobo.

AriciU_of_KoF, one comment, it's fairer to compare the KT133 chipset mobo like the A7V to a i815 chipset mobo like the CUSL2 since those 2 are the 'flagship' chipsets for the respective CPUs.
BF, I couldn't have said it any better.
