    I laough at Intel users (no offence...)

    Yesterday a friend of mine came to visit me.. He stepped into my room with a big smile.. He said "Well, FiXXer, It's a shame to see that uor new puter allready sucks"...
    I looked at him and asked what?
    "too bad that u bought an amd 950, u see my father got me a new computer trough his company, an p3 1Ghz..., and now i'm gonna benchmark u right down to the ground"...

    With a grin on my face i restarted my puter, entered BIOS an OC'ed to 1150 Mhz...

    Then I said to him: "Do that with your p3"... Hhe looked at me with shame in his eyes and said: how did u do that...

    That's an AMD secret i said...

    Besides, AMD is more OCable than Intel as far as I can tell

    I usually don't respond to these kinds of childish posts, but what the hell. From the Overclocker.com database here's the O/C averages for the current Intel and AMD CPUs as of last week:

    INTEL CPUs:
    Celeron II 533 - 846 MHz (181 CPUs)
    Celeron II 566 - 879 MHz (699 CPUs)
    Celeron II 600 - 909 MHz (184 CPUs)
    PIII 700 - 949 MHz (531 CPUs)
    PIII 750 - 950 MHz (59 CPUs)
    PIII 800- 985 MHz (108 CPUs)

    AMD CPUs
    Duron 600 - 927 MHz (503 CPUs)
    Duron 650 - 880 MHz (225 CPUs)
    Duron 700 - 951 MHz (249 CPUs)
    T-Bird 700 - 903 MHz (163 CPUs)
    T-Bird 750 - 994 MHz (104 CPUs)
    T-Bird 800 - 958 MHz (145 CPUs)

    Final Averages:
    PIII - 956 MHz (698 CPUs)
    T-Bird - 945 MHz (412 CPUs)
    Duron - 923 MHz (977 CPUs)
    Celeron II - 879 MHz (1064 CPUs)

    So anyone with even the most superficial knowledge of AMD and Intel CPUs should be aware that both are very overclockable. There's no reason to laugh (or LOL) at anyone with either. That's just plain ignorant.

    the overclocking ability depends on the individual computer, and who cares what type it is if its the fastest.

    I can compare my Duron to your 950MHZ T bird and your friends Piii! All i payed was 60 bucks for an 600MHZ duron that is Runing @ 1000MHZ well take that ! That is the most bang for the buck i ever spented

    I have a K6-III and the K6-III+ will arrive soon. I can't help but laugh not at Intel's processors, but their prices. This is what made me an AMD loyalist back when the K6-III was introduced and gave us a peek of what AMD was capable of. Now the same is true, except the AMD procs are whooping on Intel for lower prices. Let it continue and let the prices continue dropping.

    I reckon if AMD's prices and intel's continue the way they are all AMD have to do is up their quality a bit(ie busted chips in so many hundred) and they will overtake intel as the biggest chip maker soon.

    Wow! Nice 2 see that so many has taken interest in this thread....

    Usually i'm not against intel... But moust peeps who does not have enough knowledge and is afraid to try something new all say the same thing: "Intel is mutch better, AMD is bull****"...

    If they knew better they would not say that...

    I go for AMD because they are cheap, fast and stable at OC.
