    K7 and T-bird heatsinks

Are the heatsinks for a slot a T-bird and the Athlon K7 interchangeable?

    TIA

they are the same except the original has 512k cache at i think 1/2 the core speed and the tbird has only 256k cache but it runs at full speed of the core
but if your talking both slot a then the heatsink will work but if your talking slot a and socket a it wont

I have a Slot A board with a dead K7. I need either a new T-bird or K7 and wondered if a new heatsink/fan was going to be needed if I went to the T-bird.

The socket heatsinks will not fit a classic. but the slot a tbird is externally identical to the classic. when I fried my classic and replaced it, there was no noticelble physical change
