I just switched out some PC66 SDRAM (CAS 3)out of my K6III-450 box and put in a 128MB stick of KingMax PC150 SDRAM and upped the bus speed to 100Mhz at CAS2. I ran Sandra 2000 before and after. Sandra's ALU memory bandwidth went from about 110 to about 160 but my FPU memory bandwidth (second bar graph) went down from about 100 to 76! Anyone have any idea why this would happen? All my Wintune98 memory benchmarks either stayed the same or went up. My Quake 2 Demo1 benchmark went from 69fps to 79fps - pretty impressive for just switching to PC100 memory. Yeah, I know it's an "old" box and the KingMax will eventually end up in my new OC'd Duron box. Anyone have any idea why the FPU mem. benchmark would go down? Anything to do with the socket 7 platform?
