The small contact formula is for socket chips, and the large contact stuff is for slot chips. So to answer your question, go for the small contact formula.

    According to the manufacturer...

"For PIII SECC2, all Coppermines (PIII and Celeron II) AMD Durons and AMD Thunderbirds, please use the Arctic Silver version optimized for small contact areas."

"For Celerons, K6s and slot processors using a heatplate, please use the Arctic Silver version optimized for large contact areas."

What exactly is the difference anyway? How is a thermal paste optimized for different areas?

It's a matter of how viscous the paste is.
