I recently bought a Soyo 6ba+4 BX MoBo to replace my Soyo sy 6vca VIA133a Board that would never clock a celeron over 80mhz FSB(VIA Sucks, VIA Sucks, VIA Sucks...)!
Now I am running Solid at 880mhz and 5-10 mins @926 it will crash. I'm using a Golden Orb for cooling and running at 1.71 Core Voltage.
I am very happy at 880! But, could I increase the Voltage any more for higher speeds and/or a better cooler?
mine does 880 at stock voltage. but i bump to 1.55, just because it seems like i should. it will also post at 992 but craps on windows start up. i've read that the 533s generally are pretty stable in the 800's but most of them sorta hit a brick wall around 900.
what kind of temps are you getting at 926? golden orbs are good, but certianly not the best. an alpha may help but if heat isn't the issue...
i can get 1008MHz from my 566, but have some video problems (games). so i keep it down a little till i get a better vid-card.
as far as voltages, i've gone as high as 2.05v with no apparent problems, i keep it at 1.85v at my current speed (3 months now).
higher voltages NEED better cooling...
my temps are 24c idle and 28-30c load.
(central air in house)
Temps are usually running from 36-41 deg C. Depending on how hot of a day is going on. My Computer room gets very hot around 3pm so I try to keep a close watch on it.
If I have some time tommarow i'll take the cooler off and have a look, I thought I had it writen down somewhere, guess not.
