    1050mhz duron YA BABY YA

I was realy board on satarday and and I got my big 12v ps back, so I dicided trow togather a an air cooled pelter ( a peltier I bought on ebay for my P2 and the cooler master HS I got with my cpu mobo combo. I have been resisting for a while now cause I dident think my PS would handel it ). I made my own clips ,I had to I broke the ones I was trying to modify

, cut out a cold plate from some stanless steel sheating ( will this work better than an aluminum or copper??? ) and tryed it on for size and fit on my ga-7zm with my "spare" duron ie 600 @ 850

took it for a dry run on the 7zm( no power to the mobo ) and I could feal the cold on the bottom of the mobo so i know it was working.I put it on my a7v fired it up and tryed a gig . I got it but it wouldent bench.I took it apart and found I forgot the HS compound on the hot and cold side of the pelter.owell I cranked it up again still wont bench in saundra, was never able to bench in 3d mard 2000 over the default speed , but it was rather stable in UT..
I got it to boot into windows @ 1050 and got the asus prob program open.I watched it for a while ambiant was 24 c mobo was @ 27c and processer was @22c I watched the temp for a while felt the HS , it was hot ( stupid me ). opened up seti and I watched my temps start climbing.@35 c I shut down and went back to my GORB..... owell this gives me an excuse to go with water cooling heheehehehehe. befor I disasimbled the HS the peltier was on I taped the sides and the holes in the bottem up and I ran tap water , 15c , over it and got -7 c hehehe I toutched it and my finger stuck to it for a moment....yup I am going to go with water cooling.

Stainless steel is not as good a heat conductor as copper or aluminum and it retains heat much longer.

    Good work all the same!

Silver > Copper > Aluminum > Steel & anything else. If you can, use copper- it's 96% as good as silver for a fraction of the cost. Use Arctic Silver heat compound to connect everything.

Great work though! I had just gotten complacent about my air-cooled Duron @850- maybe I'll reconsider, haha

arrogant need i say more... what does someones typing ability have to do with their ability to post on a hardware forum or even about their command of the english language... if you want to be pedantic, remember he is in the states and it is a diffent language... hence the choices when setting up programs....

    LOL!!!!!!

Good point though...who gives a dog's dangly bits about the spelling? I nevre cud spel aneewai.

You know why he can get to 1050....it's that bloody GA-7ZM!!!!! I'm putting together a system for my neighbour based on the same mobo...all I've heard about them is stability, stability, stability. If you don't mind using the onboard audio to save a PCI slot, then they seem to be the best value Duron mobo out there.

    MuFu.

P.S. I gotta admit that "Ya Baby, Ya" does sound a bit like it came from the German-dubbed version of Austin Powers.

I’m not being pedantic! I’m merely stating that his spelling is obviously well below average unless he is about 6 years old! His incapability to legibly display simple words like “Mark” “Handle” Tried” “Bottom” “Feel” and “Probe” must prove to be a hindrance in understanding to people who do not speak English as their native tongue. Whether he is from America or not doesn’t enter into the argument, all of the above words along with “Processor” and “Disassembled” are all spelt identically in British English!

Oh and by the way, Mutha Funker, if you're trying to indicate a German related joke, it's not "Ya", it's "Ja". And don't argue with me about that one because I'm doing advanced German as an A-Level!

Ultim8, you DO know you can edit and delete your messages, right??? Well, I guess by posting 4 posts instead you're clearly showing your mental and linguistic superiority!

We have an international crowd here- for many, English isn't a first language. How would you like it if a German board started chastising you for every little spelling and grammatical mistake?? Give the guy a break- so long as his point came across, the spelling really doesn't matter.

Exactly... my point exactly! That's what I mean! This is an international forum so wouldn't it be better for people who don't speak very good english if he typed what he wanted to say into Word, spellchecked it, then pasted into HWC? I am trying to say that using such "unique" spellings is not really much use for, as an example, someone from Croatia or Brazil. I'm not picking at him personally, I just think a little bit more consideration for those non-english people who have to suffer the bad use of his own language and then translate it could be of help!
