Thermal Tape?

I was thinkin of attaching my cel2 566mhz intel heatsink/fan on my creative tnt2 ultra chip but the only way to attach it seems to be thermal tape? I've never used or seen it...can it just be gotton from like tandy or something? so dun use thermal grease i suppose? thermal tape not as good as grease but do i have any other options?

you can try thermal epoxy, more effective than tape but less than grease. it basicly forms a thermal bond between your heatsink and the chip.

Thermal Epoxy has about 3 to 4 times the thermal transfer rate of thermal tape.

gee I always used thermal goop and put super glue on the four corners of the chip. I always had good results.

seemings i already have sum thermal paste and super glue i may go with that option...the superglue doesn't wreck the chip or anything? eg. chemicals i dunno! I take it just a very very small amount of glue will do

no.. it dosn't hurt the chip. use real thin superglue..not the thick pastey stuff. Not to much goop though.. I usually just smear some on and then run the edje of a utility knife blade across it to level out the spread.
