    PII400 overclocking

Can anyone tell me how to make my system run at 133FSB?
    I have PII400
    gigabyte ga6bxc
    64Mb pc100
    hercules prophetII GTS
    sound blaster live

It runs at the moment at 112FSB, but at 133FSB it crashes as it loads windows

increase the voltage on the chip and that will make it run more stable. but this also creates more heat, so you need some sort of cooling in order the keep it cool
people that drive slow are easy to pass, it's people who drive fast that provide a challange.

    Thanks,
...however, i'm a bit new to this.....can you tell me how to increase the voltage to my cpu?
also at the moment I have the case off, and a big summer fan blowing over the whole of the systems insides for extra cooling...is this enough?

In order to stand a good chance of running at 133MHz FSB, you will need to invest in some PC133 SDRAM. Your generic PC100 SDRAM will proabably be good up to 112MHz but will almost always fail at 133MHz.

That plus the fact that the PII400 were at the end of their production line (the 450 being the last PII), they aren't great overclockers. Few get them over the 500MHz mark (125MHz FSB) and fewer still will hit 533 with increased Voltages.

my p400 which was one of the earliest p400's is still locked

but i can get 112 out of my front side bus with 100 ram..so 448 is max..default voltage

i never tried it with some 133 ram...but i dont think it would be too stable above 450 anyway

If you've got the option of changing the SEL #100/66 signal to low you can change the multiplier

My 350 is at 3x138 at the moment, stock cooling and 0.1v over default voltage.
