Motorbike fans?

A friend of mine gave me this really big motorbike fan to use as a front intake fan. I have no idea if it works; as I can't seem to get it going. Being a fan for cooling a bike radiator would this thing require 24V? If so is there any way to get 24Volts out of a power supply. I know its a bit big but I have a tower case so I can go and pick up another PSU for it. Anyone?

The majority of radiator fans that come of m/cycles are 12 volt but They require 8 to 10 Amps to kick them into motion and a further continious 6 to 8 Amps to keep them moving so dont expect your pc power supply to run one of these because it wont
Try a good quality car battery charger rated at 8 Amps or above

I once took that the other way around, using a PC Powersupply fan as an intake fan on my moped

Didn't add much performance (top speed was about 40mph) but hey - it impressed my buds

Nope...can't see ya running it on any computer psu...but as said a charger would make it scream...just make sure you attach it well...if my memory serves me rigth they are pretty high on rmp... could be messy if it gets loose...take care and have fun...

If you're thinking of using that you might as well go to a shop and get an 11 blade fan used on German cars for cooling the condenser of the air conditioner.

Not a good idea.

Get a stand fan and put it right smack on the side of your case.
