    What O/Cers dream about

i was in econ today, had a dream about a computer of the future....

it would have NO ISA slots (too old, who needs it)

the PCI bus would run about 100mhz
the AGP bus would run above 400mhz
cpu/memory bus would run at 1ghz
    internal CPU clk @ 8+ghz
multiplier - variable from 1 - 5x - changed by bios settings and software settings defineable by user
entire system waterproof and frozen to subzero temps in a vacuum
water cooled chipsets, memory, processor etc
agp running at 256 bits (bandwidth is everything)
    pci running at 128 bits
quad Williamettes each at 2-4 ghz
    running hacked version of linux/unix
    2 600W p/s (or just a small nuclear reactor)
10G of memory (upgradeable to 30G)
HDD- 75,000 rpm laser drive - 1 terabyte

    HAHAHHAHA

    even overclockers dream in color...

If the system was in a vacuum, wouldn't that mean that there is nowhere for the heat from the components to dissipate to? If that was true, those components wouldn't remain stable at stock temp, so overclocking would definitely be out of the picture.

it was a joke you know...

being in a vacuum would mean no water (condensation sucks) but i suppose we could fill it with hydrogen...that would look cool...(j/k)

thanks for the welcome aboard though...ive been watching n readin whats been goin on n i like it

Only water cooled, hell, lets use liquid nitrogen.
Or at least a Jopecooler or a Pandacooler.

Please don't provoke the poor people..........
Their website said "Requires Linux Distrubution based on kernel 2.4.2 or better," so I went and installed FreeBSD.
