I was wondering....I'll get my Vapochill soon, and I've got an 80W Peltier I'm not using...now I may be a little greedy when I consider this but...would adding my peltier be a good idea ? Would it increase performance ? I'd think so...
Have you seen the supercoolers made and sold by 'superior cooling methodologies'
They offer an alternative on the asetek and kryotechs.
The founder often visits this forum and goes by the name #Rotor
These supercoolers use a more powerful compressor, evaporator combo, and should be able to handle the extra load of a peltier. It's also an external unit and can fit any cpu or future cpu, giving it a better future than the less flexible aseteks.
He can make custom parts as well.

But the thing is that I was the one who won the Vapochill at www.ocshoot.com and since I've got an 80W Pelt I'm not using, I thought I'd put it to some use.
As for the more powerful CPU in #Rotor's kit - yes, I'd like some more power, but I can't afford it yet. So therefore I have to continue using my 300A. So there
well congrats on that win, The vapo-chill is a mighty fine piece of artwork by anyone's standards, and yes indeed adding a couple of TECs to that mix, will surely take you way down to the -40's and -50's
note: Daveg was referring to the actual compressor\evaporator combination I use inside the Chip-Chiller, my kit is not a "bare-bones" kit, I do not sell it with a case and mobo\cpu combo, mainly because I feel the customer should not be forced to take whatever I feel is a good mobo\cpu setup. And besides, if you are a hard core overclocker, which is required for using the CC safely, then you would probably already know what mobo\cpu combo you want, and you would also know exactly where to get it for much cheaper than I can supply it...

The design of the vapochills evaporator and the size of the compressor probably won't allow it to handle the extra heat load very well and the insulation is not designed for the colder temperatures that you would get at idle.
