    Athlon Guys come on in...

I just got my 900k7 in the mail. I was told that you can tell what kind of core is present by the serial numbers(among other things). What have I got?

You would have to remove the casing to tell the core on it. However since you got the high-end 900MHz processor, you probably got a 900MHz core. Your chances of getting a 'higher-then-you-paid-for' core is much better at the lower clock speeds like 550MHz and 600MHz.

Can you remove to case without damaging the CPU and still put it back on.

I guess I'll wait till my warranty end before I crack the case, but that doesn't mean I won't still try to overclock it.

By-the-way S_Klass thanks, that site will come in handy in August (if I can wait that long)
