Hi again

Whats the normal operating temp. of the M/B and CPU?
Mine is

M/B = 29-30 C
CPU = ?

It depends on what M/B & CPU you have. Some AMD Athlons run above 40C with no problem but I think that is the exception.

Well it's all relative to your room temps, safe estimates for case temps are about 2-5°C over room temp while CPU temps should be around 8-12°C over room temps. Of course these averages drop a little in areas with cool/cold climates and increase in warmer areas. Overall temps about 40°C for PIII CPU temps are fine while temps around 45° for Athlons are safe too.

Let me guess!

I think its from MotherBoard Monitor. One not set to any chip so it seems to run out of control and the other set in fahrenheit.

the yellow one is CPU core temp in ºC from MBM

and the other one is cpuidle

ya I like this little program, it can record everything that appears on your screen in real-time.... so if you need to explain to someone how to change the setup of a modem in windows, you can just make a recording and email it

I typically just turn on MS Netmeeting and do it for them remotely by sharing desktops with them. It's not perfect but it's pretty slick.

pcanywhere is a nice one for doing that too is what I use at work for fixing peoples pc's for them, without having to get up from my desk..... I'm so lazy

Getting off track. I have managed to keep my proc. core K7-650 8x107.5~914 to a cool 26c (at its core) and mobo 18c. HowYouAsk? Forced air conditioner. Rigged a 5000 BTU a/c to an air duct used for dryers to a 5" fan mounted 2" above the cpu 1/4" above my GFD~wheew.
The a/c was already in the wall and with $30 bucks in parts I was sailing in one keewl machine. Can anyone tell me beyond grounding the system is there any other things to be aware of? Is there any threat to other devices running cooler than expected? The nice thing is nothing pushes the temp. up or down more that 1-2 degrees.
