Overclocking

I have a Dell 700r, 256MB RAM, nVidia 32MB 256 AGP card...this in itself is a pretty powerful machine...what benefits would I derive from overclocking my system? I play mostly cmbt sims such as USAF, F/A-18, WWII Fighters and Microsoft CMBT Sim. Thanks for the replies.

Well, you could make your CPU run faster. You have to have very good cooling inside of your case to overclock. What I would reccomend doing is learning everything you possibly can about your computer. Realize also that overclocking voids your warranty on your computer. Ask yourself this: do I really want to void my warranty to make my computer go faster? If you answered no, then I would read up on overclocking a little more and ask yourself again. If you answered yes, then first thing is first: read everything you can about overclocking. I would reccomend:

After you have read, find your motherboard/computer manual. Read it. Then, start overclocking!

O/C is great if your mobo lets you..can u raise your FSB? in bios

Dell PCs use INTEL mobo's which are basically non-overclockable.
