How far is too far?

I took my celeron 533a to 960 and it was fine. But then I tried to do 124 mhz bus. And now my computer is messed! I wont boot! I mean, it'll boot in safe mode but not to normal windows. Same thing happened to me with my P3 750. I would defrag first, then I would scandisk. If this doesn't help, keep the CPU off for a day or so. Then try again. My P2-450 used to lock up at 600, I'd set it back to 560, then a day later it would go back to 600. CPU's are like chicks, man...

What is your voltage?
your Dram clock setting?
cas setting?
CPU and Sys Temps?
I am running a 533a and it is a hot little bugger, I am not sure that the Golden Orb will cool that thing if you are pushing 2.0 volts..

I can see about 920 kind of stable on air @ 1.8 volts. And 907 very stable @ 1.8 v but I have to keep an EyE on the temps.

Yes, you can defrag and scandisk from both dos and safe mode. Try it in safe mode, if that don't work email me for instructions on dos scandisk and defrag.

I figured it out. this easy. I blew up my sound card. Great. I formatted and installed the new drivers for my live. Then when i rebooted, it started to play the intro and paused on the first beat of it. and wouldnt stop playing it!! I have come to the conclusion that i blew out either the pci slot or the sound card. anyone got a good isa card i can buy?

wait, let me guess, you have a SB live...

I know of 3 or 4 people that have had problems with the SB Live and the .018 chips...

I just pulled mine and put an AWE 64 g0old in..

LOL!!! Man your good!!! I blew it up. I WAS working til I o/c'd it to high hell and i think the soundcard was fried. I need an AWE64 or maybe a Diamond MX300. Something nice. I'll post it in the FS forum. Oh, and can you tell me where to get an Awe64 gold at a nice price?
