    Heatsink "Legs" Question

    Hi,

    I posted in here last week, and received some excellent help. Thank you all.

    I just received an Alpha PEP66T kit, and was wondering if it is necessary to remove the "legs" from the heatsink. It will be attached to a Celeron II 566 (Coppermine) proc. and will be in an Abit Slotket III. Then it will be put in my Abit BH6 mobo.

    It seems I had read somewhere that you should remove those little plastic legs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    they are molded in...
    you won't be needing to remove them...

    since the Abit Sloket III has a plastic lever...which won't get into the way of the heatsink...

    they are for stabilizing purposes...
