AMD K6-2 & 600 MHz

How many of you guys have made it? Cooling set-up? What kind of voltage? (And most importantly what chip did you start out with?) I'm just wondering if I have a chance using a Peltier, decent heatsink, and at least 2.5v. This could make for a nice cheap, fast upgrade if I could get it to work.

I have made it to 600 using a k6-2 533. I have an alpha 7HO from 3dfxcool and I am running at 2.6v. For more info check out the "whos got the fastest k6-2" thread in the CPU section.

I have an amd k6 2 400 currently running at 450 (4.5 x 100 with 2.4 volts) and I can't get it to run at 500 with out at least 3.o volts it works but I can only run 10 mins at a time cause it gets to hot I can't put water cooling in cause my dad reckons I am an idiot and that I will blow it up. Anyway Does any one have any other tips on cooling. Does any one know why thew least I can go on 500 is 3 volts? Also what can I damage by putting the FSB up. I currently have a gigabyte GA5AX and it is running at 100 mhz with PCI at 33.3 and AGP at around 66. What damage can it cause if I put it up to say 110 mhz x 4.5. TonForty, thanks very much for the information. Do you believe the 533 or 550 chip would be more appropriate for the job? I know the 550 requires 2.3v at it's normal settings. How about the 533? Is it 2.2v? If so then it might make a bit more sense. (there is only about $10 difference between the two now) I was thinking about the Alpha set-up like you have, or using a Peltier. Probably 2.6v but I'd be willing to go up to 2.8v if I had to. Just seems remarkably few people have made it to 600, then again few people seem to have attempted it so far. I did get a 500 running @ 550 w/2.4v with no problems. Just used a standard Globalwin HS & fan.
