Burn in before OC , is it nessessary?

have heard the term Burn in used here before,I guess that means to run a new processor at default speed and voltage for a while before trying to OC it, is that the best way to do it? how long?

No need, crank it up see where it's stable, let it burn in there for awhile. Tweak/fiddle/pray and see how much higher it will go...

I call it breaking it in, but i would suggest it but its really not necessary
