Overclocking Coppermine 550E....

O.K. boys...
My configuration: PIII 550E FCPGA-AIR COOLING
Abit BE6-II
CL Anihilator Pro
HD 7200Rpm 10GB WD
O/C - 733/133FSB
My problem is temperature.
My standard temperature in windows is over 35C. When i start CPU consuming aplication (benchmark, 3D game) my temperature jump to over 75C. My system work stable. When I O/C to 150FSB, temp jump to 81C.What temp is dangerous for my CPU??? I can´t use additional cooling (water or similar), because in Slovakia isn´t possible to buy it.

Are you sure 75C is a correct reading? That's too hot. It's not dangerous (according to INTEL) but its still too hot. Get an extra case fan and direct it towards the CPU - that should help a lot. The best thing you could do is buy a really good heatsink. Surely you can find a decent heatsink if you found all that kick *** hardware already.
You're going 733Mhz on a factory heatsink? Now that's impressive.

I don´t have a experiences with FC-PGA, but when my CPU running at original 550/100, temp is over 71C. Whats the killing temperature for FC-PGA CPU??? I now that in FC-PGA package is CPU core directly on FUN AND termistor.

"killing temperature' is probably over 100C. I'd guess it would cause a system crash from being unstable long before it got to 100C. While the CPU itself is not likely to be physically damaged from heat, it will not be as stable as it should be. Especially at 733MHz. Most people are able to keep their CPU under 50C. What is the temperature of the room the computer is in? Is it in a hot room?
Take a closer look at the heatsink. Make sure its sitting flat against the processor. Take off the heatsink and look for a paper sticker or something else between the heatsink and processor that keeps it from making good contact. Is there white grease (thermal compound) on the contact surfaces? Add some thermal 'grease' if you don't see any there already. Good luck finding it if you don't have a Radio Shack store nearby. ( :

Touch the heatsink with your fingers when the temp says 70C. Does it feel very hot? It should almost burn your fingers after a few seconds. If it doesn't feel hot maybe your temperature monitor is wrong.

My room temperature is 22C. In the case my temp monitor indicates 35-40C after 20min hardcore playing. Today I try to open my CASE and insert external veeeerrrryyy big plower near.

HEY I USED TO HAVE ONE 550B ON AN ABIT BE6
I HAD TO FREE THE MUL/R ON THAT ONE AND COULD RUN IT ON 800 WITH 133 FSB,33 PCI.I HAD PLACED ONE FUN OVER THE CPU THAT COULD SUCK HOT AIR AND BLOW IT OUT FROM THE CASE.I SOMETIMES HAD 35C ON THAT ONE.
1.THINK THAT YOU HAVE ALMOST 10C BEHIND THE CPU
2.DOES BE6 II SUPPROTS COPPERMINE;I HAD TO ASK ABIT ABOUT MINE AND SAID THAT IF BOUGHT WITHIN 3MONTHS FROM 2000 IT WOULD WORK;
3.DOES WINBOND HW WORKS OK;
4.TRY USING RAIN SW
