Ok, is there gonna be any real gain from buying a second processor? Yes, this is assuming I'm using an smp capable OS. I plan on installing NT4, and hopefully 2k if I can get a copy at some point. The only time I can think of that I might really need more power is playing games like UT or Half Life. um, what else would it be helpful for? My current processor is 366 -> 572.
Just keep in mind, NT does not support DirectX, so a lot of games will not run under NT.. Dual CPU's will make a big dif on some apps, but I would not do it if gaming is your main objective..

like Sterling_Aug, I have been running 2x366@550 on BP6/NT4.0 just for the experience, there is a certain 'feel-good' element to the set-up, so that is always worth something..

Most games are NOT SMP capable yet...(key word YET).
Any CPU intensive program such as CAD, video editing, sound editing, etc will benefit greatly from dual processors. I have dual C366's running 572 MHz under Win2K just for the learning experience.
Well, UT does run under NT. As for whether it supports smp, I haven't a clue. I guess I'll have to research that one. I thought I heard something like even if the app doesn't support smp, it will still run better cause the os uses one processor and the game or app uses another? I was hoping one of our veteran dual processor owners could give some feedback here.
