Just thought, this might stimulate some thought. When I responded to the age post, I realized I've always been doing this. Interesting: anybody else willing to trace the bucaneer in you......??
The amiga500 had an oblong CPU, like a BIOS chip, you could overclock it by mucking around with the screen modes. It was possible to change it from 7.14Mhz to 8.3Mhz or something. The funniest thing was that everything speeded up, Like music and animation, quite amusing, especially playing Robocod, it was like Robocod on speed , but it was good for Vista and paint programs.
So that would be when I was 12, so thats umm 7 years.

My first OC was with a MAC. With a NewerTech upgrade, I found out how to influence the MoBo and CPU. Now I'm doing the same thing with P3 xeons, SGI Octanes, O2s, ONYX and DEC Alphas. I just never before saw the connection. Just remembered figuring out the 56Flex code and flashing my MODEM with my own code. God, this goes way back!!!!
I found out today that my honey case(FK-320)won't fit my WTX MoBo(IWILL DCA-200-N), which has realy put the KEBOSH on the project. I will OC the 840 chipset with 512 of PC800 RDRAM, and report to ou beloved group. I was hoping for this weekend (Goddamnit, I have everything, including the lapped, staged, potted Pelts for the whole SHEBANG,.....WEAK), but I started to assemble without the Backplane, fired up the CHEETAH, and realized what I already knew, [FILL IN WITH YOUR OWN SENTIMENTS, OCers] We push the envelope, and we pay a price.
I will OC this set-up. And then move on to more productive Thunderbirdian/770 waters.
Does anybody want a FK-320 case, with a few 44 Mag TCHP holes in it?
