    OC an AMD.. which mobo?

I have decided that I am going to use an AMD to OC.. any suggestions on an inexpensive yet nice overclockable AMD? Which mobo should I use?

Are you looking for an Athlon or K6?

For about 60 bucks you can get an AMD k62-450 that O/C's nicely to 550 on an ASUS P5A-B mobo. OR, you can get a K62-500 for about 10 bucks more and take it to 600 and get the ASUS P5A. Yep, I have both setups and they run great!. Not a big Intel fan.

sorry billy.. forgot to mention that part... Athlon is what I was planning on getting. Which would you prefer? I've heard many say athlon over a K6

If I were you I would go athlon. Just cuz its the fastest damn thing there is right now, and still not too expensive. If you want to OC, I would go with a 500, people seem to be getting those to 800 fairly well. I've got an athlon 500 on an FIC SD-11 which i haven't OCed yet cuz I'm gonna get a goldfinger. This is the larger issue as far as overclocking the athlon, as far as mobo i would just go with whatever floats your boat. The SD-11 can take up to 800 Mhz and 768 RAM, plus its got AGP, 6 pci, and an ISA. Good luck
