what version of seti are you running? command line or GUI, 1.3 or 2.0? if gui do you have the option set to blank the screen? that will almost double times...definately something wrong though, my celly processes them in around 9 hrs...
the option to blank the screen is under the display icon in the control panel, just click on the screensaver tab, select seti@home, click properties, then put a check in the "blank screen after xxx minutes"
when I ran the gui version I set mine to two minutes, to enjoy the pretty graphics...
as for the second question, yes you can run the command line version for NT in win98...that's what i am doing, the only problem is that you have to manually start and stop the program...Oh, the sacrifices we make for speed!
FYI in 98 you can go into the task manager and set up a task that will act about any way you want it to. From actavating daily, at start up when idle and so much more. Check it out there is a wizard to walk you through it.
