Overclocking My P2 400

Ok check it out. I tried once to oc my P2 400, by changing the bus speed from 100mhz to 133mhz. I got a freakin black screen! I guess my Tekram motherboard dont support 133mhz bus. Anyway is there anotherway to oc my thing, and is it safe to oc a p2?

First of all if you can set it to 133 the mobo probably supports it...

As for safety NAAH... well it depends on how you define safe...

So if you wanna OC first check your cooling... a standard heatsink is a tad too little but add one or two case fans and it migth work...
Then check your dimms, if it's a PC100 dimm it probably can take some OC'ing...
Next up check you fsb options...133 isn't the best option to start with it's a big step from 100 to 133 but if you mobo supports 112 or 124 try it...

The most important thing to think of if you wanna make it "safe" is COOLING...OK???

I have my PIII 450 running at 504mhz with no problem using a 112mhz FSB. The deciding factor is dependant on whether or not your ram can handle it. I am using PC100 but plan on getting some PC133 and see if i can push my clock speed up to 598mhz.
