I HAVE OVERCLOCKED THIS CPU WITH NO LUCK
I HAVE WENT AS HIGH AS 2.6V
MOTHERBOARD IS EPOX EP-58MVP3C-M
COOLING IS NOT THE PROBLEM I THINK
I HAVE TWO CASE FANS AND POWER SUPPLY FAN
AND A PELTER ON THE CPU
ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE NICE.

I have a k6-2 450 on an epox 59mvp3g-m (similar setup to yourself) I can run at 500 fine unless i have the windows shut and my heater has been on full for a few hours. But I use 2.8v ( higher than I'd like to but I can't see the voltage modification in the bios and the jumper goes straight from the default 2.4v to 2.8v and @ 500 my cpu isn't stable with only 2.4v

if it doesnt do 500 @ 2.5 leave it at 450 and be happy with it.i needed 2.7 to get mine stable at 500.it lasted for 1 day.i used an alpha hs and fan and thermal compound and left the case open.the hs only got warm so i know heat did not kill it.

I am going to stay at 450mhz it runs to
good to mess it all up.
But what about the peltier do I realy
need it on the cpu.

If you're running your cpu at it's rated speed, you shouldn't need the peltier.
