I got the Socket370 version. The Alpha he descibed is the Slot 1 version. Intel does not make the 466 celeron in slot 1. Anyway you can see the socket 370 verion at www.bxboards.com or www.overclockers.com. Also my 466 is a week 13 and the s code is SL3FL. It is a boxed retail version. The retails are about 10-15 dollars more but known for being a little more overclockable than the OEMs in general.
I was going through a little anxiety as I was waiting for my 466 to arrive. Based on my past experience with Cellys, I had ordered it with the assumtion that 75 FSB would be a given... Then, I read a review over at SharkeyExtreme, where, back in May, when they first came out, Sharkey could not get the 466 past 66MHZ FSB..
So, your post was encouraging, even as I was just starting to check mine out..
My pack code is also SL3FL.. I ran it for a couple of hours at 466, then bumped it up to 525.. I have had it looping on 3DMark99 MAX for several hours without a glitch, so I am optimistic.
I use the Intel Heatsink/Fan.. It barely gets warm, so I do not think heat is an issue at this speed.. I notice the Intel heatsink for the 466 is somewhat heftier than the 400..
Hurray for AMD.. If Intel had not felt the need to compete in the ~$150 price range, we never would have had, so much for so little..
whoopti-dooo..600 with a c400...gee...uhhh...I'm amazed...want me to brag, too...I have a P3-550 w/pc-833 ram/quantum HDD-good for o/c) running at 233 FSB-1281.5 MHz... I have my entire computer submerged in a cryo tank (operating at Absolute zero (-459.67 F ) ...gee...wow...stable operation at those temps...gets a little hard to put Cd's in the tray, though...they always ice up & shatter...darnitt..any ideas? oh yeah..everything else is really brittle, too...oh well...details...

it would take something more than that to impress me..i'm mean ya 600 mhz is fast but i would expect more? wouldn't you?
That's not a bad OC'ing margin at all. The best of course was the 300a, but ****, we're getting close to the limits of this core design by now. It's still way better than what you can do with an AMD, and come on, $120-140 bucks for 600mhz right now is a great deal, besides most 466's aren't making it there.
well....600 on either 466 or 400 is nothing. I once clocked my 366 to 616. Win98 was running perfect and so did everything else. But I wasn't secure about the heat on the CPU so I lowered it back down to 550.
Well the sword cuts both ways, WHO GIVES A **** where your stupid celeron 366 got to ?, do you have a problems with the size of your genitalia that you find it absolutely nessasary to say mines bigger and better ?
Why dont you shut up because if you knew anything of the architecture of the celeron 400 and 466 and that the multiplier locks being so high restricts your sucsess in o/c you would congratulate this guy.
Every body knows the 300 and 366 celerons o/c real well in most cases. I once caught a fish this big >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Excuse me, but maybe I'm missing something. This is the Cases, Cooling and Overclocking sections right? Now looking at that it would appear to me that this is where you can talk about o/c and what you've done. Or am I missing something.....

Wow what a bunch of **** this stirred up. Anyway I went for 622 Mhz. It works but its not reliable. 601 Mhz is totally reliable so I'll stick with that for now. BTW, snakeJ_777 needs to get a ****ing life. I guess if it where up to him nobody would be posting his results unless they got over 800 mhz......
