    Removal of heatsink

    I bought a tnt from someone. It has a heatsink attached and i want to remove it to put on a better one. How can i remove it? It is stuck on w/ heatsink compound i assume.

    Very gently!! I hear the butter knife method can work - essentially taking a thin metal thing and working it in around the sides prying it off. However, you run the risk of killing the chip... You may want to just attach a fan to the heatsinc and leave it at that
    I call it "No-Pants Wonderday," but it turns out the police just call it "Thursday." Go figure.

    Tennmax makes you twist them off... don't peel it, don't pry it upwards and don't stick anything in between the heatsink and the chip... Just gentle twist it either clock or counter clockwise.
