I'm looking at buying a computer, but it only
has PCI 3D sound on the motherboard.
It's the only part of the system I don't like.
Should I look elsewhere or will this be of
little importance?

Simply put. AMD will make the K6-3 for the
Super Socket 7. No one knows how long
Intel will stick with the BX motherboard.
Intel will be going back to the socket by
the time the K6-3 is considerd...

Chemi is right. Go for the K6-2 400 right
now. Then later you can upgrade to the
K6-3 chip on the same motherboard.
No guarantees how long Intel will stick
with their BX boards.

I have read in PC Magazine that Evergreen
is coming out with a Pentium 2 upgrade
that just plugs into a PCI slot like a modem
or something. It is supposed to be released

I'm looking at buying a computer system that has a Yamaha wavetable soundcard.
I think it is the YSXG-Force sound card. Does anyone know if their cards can compete?

I'm going to buy a new computer next year, probably in March,
and wanted to know when the mysterious K6-3 would be released.
An article in PC Magazine said that it would be out in the 4th Q of 98....
