If I have an SBAWE32 with on-board S/PDIF pins, can I hook it up to the Digital I/O card and make use of the optical out? or is that just for SB-Live?

I never tried it, but my AWE32 also has a "Creative Labs IDE Interface" detected by Win98. Check and see if you have this device in your ControlPanel/System/Devices.. It usually takes up an IRQ.
