If ya looking for a cheap sound card try sb16, awe32, 64 etc any other brand just suck in sound quality and it has much lower volume too. with generic crappy sound card I have to crank up the volume...

sb live series require at least 2 IRQ not 1 so if you got just 1 say IRQ 5, you're out of luck. dont know about how good it is as I haven't even touch one myself still using SB AWE 64 thought.

SB LIVE, platinum etc is very good! makes any other sound card look cheesy in comparison. I'm in heaven.

I'm using Labtec 3 piece ampilified speaker and that more then good enought for me. Before that I got a pair of sony full size speaker, hooked up to receiver that sounded worst and cost me 100 dollar...
