The only problem I had with SB Live!Value was when:
A) It didn't recognise my Cyrix 6x86 PR-200 (fixed since that PC was crap and I managed to get enough money to upgraded)

My PC didn't detect the soundcard, so I took it out, hammered it on the side without the chips and put it back in, it's worked fine since.
