The Live isn't too good for music and has some issues with VIA mobos, especially those that feature the 686A or 686B Southbridges...
If you can stretch the $60 it takes, I'd suggest going for the...
For that price, it'd probably be something based on the CMedia chipset...
For around $30-$40 you could get an SB Live or a Hercules FortissimoII.
I'd have to say LAME as well.

Much more bug-free.
With my GTXP the sub and center channels dissapear sporadically, only to be recovered with a driver reinstall. This is the only major driver bug at this time.

The Santa Cruz has better drivers than the GTXP. If you don't need the breakout box, I'd highly suggest the Santa Cruz.

Try replacing the crappy wire that comes with them with 16 or 14 guage. I think you'll find they'll be even better by quite a bit.
